Overtones: As is the case with almost any musical instrument, singing bowls produce overtones, with the overtones from the low register making the root note fuller and rounder. The nasoral resonance of the overtone singing merges beautifully with the overtones of the singing bowls.
The manufacture of hammered singing bowls is a completely manual process. Each singing bowl is carefully hammered into the correct shape by hand, going through various stages to obtain the correct shape and a pure tone. After this, the shells are sanded and polished piece by piece on the outside and inside, and possibly worked with chisels, for the finishing touch.
