Mala Sandalwood 108 beads

The beaded string is mainly used to count mantras that are recited. So it actually has the same function as a rosary (Catholic rosary). These mala beads are made of sandalwood and are suitable for many purposes, for counting all kinds of mantras or other prayers, bows, rounds and the like.

The cord is the same for all malas, and should consist of nine threads that symbolize the Buddha Vajradhara and the eight bodhisattvas. The large bead at the end stands for the wisdom that realizes the complete emptiness and the cylindrical bead above it is the emptiness itself. Together they symbolize that all opponents are defeated.

Sandalwood has a natural soft scent and is an extremely soft wood. It is traditionally considered to be one of the purest substances and is highly valued for its cooling and properties. It is said that it makes calm and can help with meditation.
