Palo Santo means "Holy Wood". It is a typical tree, the Bursera Graveolens, that occurs on the coast of the South Pacific of South America. It is called Sacred Wood because its blossom originates during the Christmas season.

The Sacred Wood comes from the Andes region and is extracted locally with respect for nature. Only branches that fall naturally from the trees are used. The wood is harvested from the ground only 4 to 10 years after the tree has released it naturally. It is during this period that the wood ripens, as it were, and imparts its healing effect to the natural scent of the wood. Not a single tree is damaged during this process.
